We are seeking residents who would like to help with the installation and maintenance of the park. Any ideas for a name for the park? How about events to hold in the park? Interested in helping? Volunteer!
Current design plan and renderings of proposed final park landscaping.
The final design, by Matthew Bernstein and Alex Mei based upon extensive resident input, creates a native garden to house the sculptures by apprentices from the neighborhood St. Louis ArtWorks, Summer 2021 Apprentices, Sculpture Project. The sidewalk will be installed by resident Frank Wilson of BFW Contractors. In the semi circle there is space for a Farmer’s Market as well as other community events per resident input. Picnics and family gatherings have plenty of space throughout the park. Above is the overall design as well as the planned landscape views by season by Sam Avery.
In addition, St. Louis ArtWorks has created three sculptures that will be included in the design. Pictures will be added as the works are installed.
Of course, volunteers will be needed to help install this project sometime in October. Interested in volunteering for this neighbohood redevelopment project? Sign up!
Installation Day 10.2.2021. Residents, children, schools, churches all helped install the native landscaping. Artworks and BFW installed the”limbs” of the sculpture tree. Next up: planting 1200 bulbs and the opening of the Park on October 23, 2021. Come out and join us!
