Creative placemaking integrates arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities.
Creative placemaking requires partnership across sectors, deeply engages the community, involves artists, designers and culture bearers, and helps to advance local economic, physical, and social change, ultimately laying the groundwork for systems change.
St. Louis Arts Chamber of Commerce supports a wide range of exhibitions and performances. Our communities request exhibitions, collaborations, and community arts events.
We offer support and services to make dreams a reality. Support for the arts can go a long way. See some of the amazing exhibitions we have been part of and keep an eye out for future exhibits!
Encouraging artists and developing creativity into a career can be daunting. SLACC is working to create a series of helpful artist resources that will equip them to navigate the business side of the arts.
We also have developed a mentorship and internship program for young artists who are interested in creating or nurturing creativity into applied career skills.
Working with communities, always.
We want to support the cultural artistic fabric of our communities by working directly with residents to address neighborhood needs through the use of creative skill and skillful use of creativity.
Through our initiatives, we blend together the arts and economics for a vibrant community. We are committed to sustainable projects that benefit communities long-term development.
22 Partnering Neighborhoods
Creative Placemaking unites 22 partnering neighborhoods, and hopefully even more in the future. Creative Placemaking empowers residents, local leaders, and artists to address community challenges while preserving each area’s unique cultural identity.
60 Community Art Projects
We have collaborated with local artists, volunteers, and residents to bring local stories and culture to life. Every art project reflects the creativity in its community space, for all to enjoy and celebrate.
1,442 Trees and Flora Planted
From garden beds to shaded walkways, every seedling and tree planted supports creating thriving spaces. These green additions promote sustainability, improve air quality, and create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
