The Academy of Nature and Wildlife Arts in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources’ Rozier Gallery hosted the first annual statewide Plein Air exhibit. The exhibit pairs open air paintings from around the state with interpretative activities with DNR staff to explore Missouri’s diverse eco systems in one room. The Gallery is located at 101 Jefferson St, Jefferson City 65101. All work is available for sale at the Academy of Nature and Wildlife Arts.
Artists from around the state submitted work painted throughout Missouri for a juried exhibit. Thirty four works from 7 artists were selected. Collette Brumbaugh and Shawn Cornell joined the opening of the exhibit with plein air painting in the front of the Gallery. Other artists in the exhibit included Daniel Fishback, Dennis Babbitt, Farley Lewis, Gloria Gaus, and Larry DeGraff. Please visit their websites to see more of their work.
Thank you to Sophie Grus, curator of the Rozier Gallery and Jaimie Henry for all of their hard work putting the exhibit together!
